DUBOIS – The search for a new DuBois City Manager is moving forward.
DuBois Mayor Barry Abbot told us that around 20 people applied for the position, all with a variety of different backgrounds and some bringing decades of experience.
Now, the City Council will begin narrowing that list down, including interviews and introducing top candidates to the public.
“One of the things that I think we as council members should look at is (that) residents should be allowed to send in a question or two that they may want to have asked of our candidates,” explained Mayor Abbot. “And we may or may not have time to do that publicly but we will make sure that those residents’ questions will be asked.”
The position is budgeted at $140,000 dollars a year, the new manager chosen will need to live in the city within six months after being hired.
