DUBOIS – DuBois city leaders are exploring a regional government partnership that could change how your local services are delivered.
A “Council of Governments,” or COG, would let DuBois team up with nearby communities to share services like public safety, road work, or code enforcement.
Terri Cunkle from DCED explained that the goal is to save money while improving services..
“It sometimes reduces costs of providing for public service, and it often promotes a better quality of service, and it enhances the eligibility for grant funding,“ explained Cunkle.
The setup is voluntary and municipalities can choose which services they want to share, if any.
Council members are still in the early stages of exploring this idea, no decisions have been made yet.
