On his ninetieth birthday, he had the honor of throwing the first pitch at the Altoona Curve game, it was a memorable day for him. Each summer, he looked forward to Music in the Park and was able to attend through the kindness of the volunteers and staff from Mulberry Square taking him there by wheelchair. His favorite was the Beach Boys tribute band. Everett was very sharp minded man, he often acted as a patient advocate for others residing at Mulberry Square Eldercare.
