Eleanora Margaret Wolfe, 83, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Friday April 3, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital.
She was born in Buffalo, New York on August 18, 1942, a daughter of the late Francis Nelson Besser and Florence (Anderson) Besser.
Eleanora was the wife Harold Thomas Wolfe, he preceded her in death in 1995.
She was never one to want attention or fuss made over her, yet her quiet presence brought a steady kind of joy wherever she went. A devoted fan of Elvis Presley, she proudly wore her signature Elvis hat, adorned with a collection of pins. She delighted in wearing her loud, fancy socks for the daily occasion. Between her hat and socks she left lasting impression on those she met.
In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, and watching her soaps.
Above all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She survived by four daughters, Sheila Schreckengost of Valier, Valerie (Russell) Welder of Grampian, Lisa (James Brown) Brown of Reynoldsville and Lori Miller of Ohio; 21 grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Heather, Peter, Joe, Timmy, Trista, Chasity, Dustin, Ryan, Sara, Anna, Everett, Robert, Rachel, Brandon, Kelsie, Kara, Thomas, James and Tyler; thirty four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband Harold, two daughters, Margaret Clinger and Frances Hill; one granddaughter, Brianna; one great granddaughter, Krista; very special son in-law, Timothy Schreckengost; two brothers, Francis Besser and Donald Besser; two sisters, Ila Hollister and Phyllis Fingerlow.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no viewing. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
