DUBOIS – A statewide nonprofit is working with DuBois to help reshape the downtown.
The Pennsylvania Downtown Center partners with communities to focus on development efforts where they matter most. Focusing on improving public spaces, supporting businesses, and building a long term strategy for sustainability.
In DuBois the work is already underway, with a plan focused on placemaking, addressing blight, and improving the city’s image.
“If you continue to let the story of corruption or blight or things like they used to be the dominant story of your town, it will always be that story,” explained Bill Arrowood with PDC.
DuBois is currently waiting for approval for a Main Street Designation, which could bring new funding and resources to revitalize the downtown.
