DUBOIS – The Hometown Heroes Banner Program will return to DuBois later this year, with some changes to keep it running long-term.
The current banners have been retired after years of fading from exposure. Now, Downtown DuBois is looking ahead to the next cycle with clear guidelines in place.
“The future of the Downtown DuBois Hometown Hero Program is going to be more structured,” explained Executive Director Shirley Dahrouge. “There are parameters, and hopefully keep everything moving and flowing for years to come.”
This program will cycle the banners with around 150 installed this year, with the remaining poles filled next year. After that, banners will rotate every other year.
Organizers also say that community feedback will help ensure that this program will continue to honor our local heroes and their families.
