DUBOIS – A State Investment aimed at boosting sports tourism is expected to bring an economic lift to the DuBois area.
State Officials have announced that $53,000 dollars in grant funding will support the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Small College Baseball and Softball World Series in DuBois this year.
This funding is part of a multi million dollar statewide initiative through the Department of Community and Economic Development to attract major sporting events to Pennsylvania bringing players, families, and fans to communities across the state.
Historically in DuBois, these tournaments bring a measurable boost to the local economy, benefiting hotels, restaurants, and small businesses.
