DUBOIS – A major snowstorm continues to impact the area today, with heavy snowfall creating hazardous travel conditions across the area.
Emergency crews are still working to respond as quickly as possible, and as the snowfall calms down, crews are beginning the lengthy snow removal process.
With cold temperatures expected to continue throughout the week, fire officials stress home heating safety.
“When we have snow events like this, your outside vents to your heaters, as the snow starts to build up, they can get clogged. We don’t want to be sucking in that carbon monoxide or anything,” explained DuBois Fire Chief Joe Mitchell.
If emergencies like power outages occur, the DuBois fire stations can be used as warming shelters.
