BROCKWAY – In three weeks, Brockway will have a public hearing for citizen input regarding the borough’s waterlines.
In light of recent reports of high asbestos levels in the water supply, the Brockway Municipal Authority is applying for a Community Development Block Grant to help fund the replacement of the system’s water main, the High Street water storage tank, and other system improvements.
The Director of Community Development for Jefferson County, Elise Grovanz, explained that the grant application process requires a public hearing. She said, “We need a lot of community support so we can tell the state how important this project is.”
The public meeting will be held at the Brockway Borough Office on Monday, January 12th at 7 pm.
