DUBOIS – Area police officers and state troopers gathered at the DuBois Walmart Monday night to give local children a chance to shop for Christmas alongside law enforcement.
A total of 27 children walked the aisles with officers, each receiving $250 dollars to spend on whatever their hearts desired. Followed by a meal provided by Walmart,
“Nothing beats seeing them getting full carts shopping for their families and themselves, and it just makes me feel good that we’re able to do this each year,“ explained Trooper Paige Pifer.
This event is designed to build positive relationships between children and law enforcement, with participants selected through area school counselors.
Shop With A Cop is funded through donations from local businesses and community support.
