DUBOIS – Penn Highlands DuBois is starting to offer chemotherapy Cooler Caps, helping patients minimize hair loss.
This FDA approved fixture uses a mixture of water and rubbing alcohol that flows through a fitted cap. This will constrict the blood vessels in the scalp, limiting the amount of chemotherapy that reaches the hair follicles.
Now being used at Penn Highlands DuBois, making them one of the first hospitals in the region to offer this cap.
