DUBOIS – Soon you could see some big changes to election precincts in DuBois
With a goal of evenly distributing voters and correcting school board imbalances, the plan could dissolve precincts 4 and 5, absorbing them into surrounding districts.
Treasure Lake, however, would remain unchanged, according to Dave Glass with the Clearfield County Board of Elections.
“We’ve really been wanting to do this for a few years, and we held off until consolidation, because we didn’t want to do it, then do it again,“ explained Glass. “We’re cognizant that change is hard for people, so we thought that doing it one time made the most sense.”
If approved by the Election Board and a judge, this new precinct layout would take effect on January 1, 2026.
If you’re unhappy with the changes, Glass says you can always mail in your ballot.
More information will be available at the next Election board meeting, held after the county Commissioners meeting next week.
