DUBOIS – Both the DuBois City Council and Sandy Township Supervisors have sent a letter to expressing their opposition towards a piece of legislation that could affect future consolidations.
The bill, proposed by Senator Cris Dush, would allow municipalities to back out of an ongoing merger in what seems to be a response to financial concerns with DuBois and Sandy Township
In the end, the current council and supervisors believe that the bill is unnecessary and the wording may cause future problems.
If this bill is approved, it would not be enacted until after DuBois and Sandy Township consolidate.
