DUBOIS – The DuBois Middle School is ramping up some of their classes in an effort to excel above statewide averages.

Currently, the Middle School is getting a variety of new innovations for students to experience a different way of learning, including Hydroponics and a slew of initiatives to encourage learning and good behavior growth, on top of monthly department meetings for educators to learn how they can improve your child’s learning.

According to Principle Tammy Cook, science and math scores are well above averages. English language arts however, is slightly below.

“We are really doing well in math, and doing well in science, as usual that continues to be our high point” explained Principle Cook. “For ELA, we see an area of growth and we plan to address that.”

Now, the school will be using a variety of techniques to raise those scores, from getting kids actively involved in reading, to the FRECKLE program.
