UNDATED – Over 1,700 pounds of salted butter is being recalled due to possible bacteria contamination.

The recall is for two four-ounce stick packages of Cabot Creamery’s Extra Creamy Premium Butter with sea salt.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says the product has been contaminated with Coliform, a bacteria commonly found in animals’ digestive tracks.

The voluntary recall has a best buy date of September 9th 2025 and the lot number, 090925-055, with item number 2038.

The FDA recommends that you either throw out the contaminated product or return it to the store it was bought at.
