UNDATED – State Representative Brian Smith is looking to return the start of the firearms deer hunting season to the first Monday after Thanksgiving.
Representative Smith is the primary sponsor of House Bill 70 which aims to change the start date from Saturday to the previous Monday start.
He claims that by returning the hunting season start date to Monday will help small businesses and families who want to enjoy the weekend before trekking into the woods.
