KERSEY – A Kersey man is behind bars after allegedly pointing a shotgun at a woman during an argument last week.

On Wednesday December 11th police were called to a scene of a crash. Once on scene police learned a female victim was fleeing home after getting into an argument with 68 year-old James Newberry.

She also told officers that during the argument Newberry allegedly pointed a shotgun at her and racked it.

When questioned, Newberry denied having any ill will and did not point the shotgun at the victim.

Newberry was then placed into custody and transported to the Elk County Jail where he is facing multiple charges including felony aggravated assault.
