DUBOIS – The DuBois/Sandy Township Manager is resigning from both municipalities.

Shawn Arbaugh has been the manager of Sandy Township for multiple years, and the DuBois City Manager since the indictment of former City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio in 2023.

We spoke to Township Supervisor Chairman Mark Sullivan who assured us that going forward, the impact of Arbaugh’s absence will be minimal.

“We’ve had difficulty trying to hire an assistant manager,“ explained Sullivan. “So we have reached out to DCED to help us with the process of hiring an interim manager, who has indicated that they would stay with us through the consolidation process.”

With Arbaugh slated to leave in early December, the township has been interviewing Jason Dailey, recommended by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Any new hire is expected to start in November subject to a background check and approval of the DuBois City Council.
