DUBOIS – We have received confirmation that the thousands of items donated by the DuBois community has arrived in Lexington North Carolina ready to be delivered to those in need.

Your donated goods are currently being sent directly to those impacted just south of Lexington by the group Samaritan’s Purse.

We spoke with a representative of the community based group, Tanya Anderson, who said that everything donated will go to those in need.

“Right now the trailer y’all are sending down, it’s going directly to a church, to a pastor that I’m friends with,“ explained Anderson. “And she is working with the Cajun Navy right now to get those distributed into the furthest parts. They’ve got donkeys, they’ve got boats, they’ve got side-by-sides, whatever they need to get into those areas, the hardest hit places.”

Samaritan’s Purse immediately went to North Carolina after the Hurricane hit to set up recovery centers, hospitals, shelters, and supply distributions wherever needed.

Anderson will also be going down to affected areas for just over a week with close to a trailer full of other supplies donated from surrounding areas like Ridgway and Treasure Lake.
