HARRISBURG – A portion of railroad track lines in southern Clearfield County will be improved thanks to the approval of $3-million in state assistance.
The entire upgrade project for the R.J. Corman Railroad Company-Pennsylvania Lines subdivision near Cherry Tree has a total price tag of $4.2-million, and includes 20 miles of track.
State Senator for Clearfield and Cambria counties, Wayne Langerholc, said the project will include spot tie replacement and surfacing. Langerholc noted that “railroads support key industries in central Pennsylvania that depend on safe and reliable rail transportation to grow their operations and create jobs.”
Langerholc is the chairman of Pennsylvania’s Senate Transportation Committee.
