Washington DC – Congress member Glenn “GT” Thompson was released from Walter Reed National Military Center Friday evening after receiving outpatient treatment for COVID-19 and has returned to his home in Pennsylvania to recover.
He thanks the Attending Physician at the U.S. Capitol along with the doctors, nurses and staff at Walter Reed for their concern and care.
Congressman Thompson plans to work virtually from home for the next week.
It was announced on Friday that Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson has tested positive for COVID-19.
This was considered a breakthrough case as Rep. Thompson was reportedly vaccinated against the virus.
The release is as follows:
“Congressman Thompson on Friday afternoon began experiencing cold-like symptoms and was promptly tested for COVID-19. While he is vaccinated, the test came back positive. Out of an abundance of caution, he is being treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He is in good spirits and further updates will be made available in the coming days.”
