Officials, including Congressman Thompson, attend Flight 93 Memorial

Shanksville, PA – Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson on Saturday will attend the 20th annual September 11 observance at the Flight 93 National Memorial. Flight 93 family members and invited guests including Vice President Kamala Harris, former President George W. Bush, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, and others will gather to remember the brave actions of the passengers and crew of Flight 93. The observance is closed to the public but available via livestream on the National Park Service Facebook page. Gates to the Memorial will open to the public around noon on Saturday.

“This solemn observance pays tribute to the 40 brave passengers and crew of Flight 93 for their selfless acts of courage on September 11, 2001,” Congressman Thompson said. “These men and women paid the ultimate sacrifice to prevent an attack on the U.S. Capitol. May we forever remember their heroic actions in this field of honor.”

At 10:03 a.m. – the moment Flight 93 crashed – the names of the passengers and crew members will be read, the Bells of Remembrance will be rung in their memory, and a wreath will be placed at the Wall of Names.
