Jones Township, PA – A Johnsonburg man is accused of altering the vehicle identification number tag, also known as VIN, taking it from one vehicle and transferring it to another.

39-year-old Benjamin Cummings reportedly sold that vehicle after it had the false VIN attached to it.

Through the investigation, it was found that the car with the altered VIN was reportedly stolen in 2012.

Cummings now faces five felony counts of alteration or destruction of a vehicle identification number, disposition of vehicle or vehicle part with altered vehicle identification number, operating or conducting a chop shop, and receiving stolen property.
