Clearfield, PA – Clearfield Borough Police got reports of a potential phone scam, a structure fire that turned out to be just a chimney that needed cleaning, and a hang-up call from a woman claiming to have been robbed… though police found she was actually intoxicated and blaming her significant other for losing money while gambling.

* Police received a report of a potential phone scam. It was reported that an unknown male was attempting to gather personal information by pretending to be a bank employee.

* Clearfield Borough Police responded to a local establishment for a report of a female that was in cardiac arrest. Police and EMS arrived on scene and assisted with transporting the female to the hospital.

* Police responded to a S 4th St address for a report of a structure fire. Police and Fire Crews arrived on scene and observed thick black smoke emitting from a chimney. The Clearfield Fire Dept determined that the smoke was a result of a chimney that required cleaning.

* While on patrol, police observed a stop sign that appeared to have been knocked over at the intersection of W 6th St and Martin St. The sign will be repaired as soon as possible.

* Police officers responded to an E 6th St residence for a 911 hang up call. Clearfield County Control reported that a female had called and said, “he robbed me”. The female then hung up the phone and would not answer for County Control. Police arrived on scene and located the caller. The caller was found to be intoxicated and blaming her significant other for losing money while gambling.

* Police were notified of a minor accident that occurred along S. Front St where one vehicle had rear-ended another vehicle causing minor damage.

* Clearfield Borough Police were called to Margaretta St for individuals going into a vacant house. Police responded and found the residence to be unsecured. Police cleared the residence and were able to secure it.

* Officers received a complaint of access device fraud where a card was used to make a purchase without the victims’ permission or knowledge.

* Police located a male that was acting suspicious along W. 1st Ave. The male was later taken to the hospital on a mental health warrant as he was found to need treatment.

* Police responded to a minor accident along Nichols St where a vehicle had backed into a truck. Minor damage and no injuries were reported.

* Clearfield Borough Police responded to a residential alarm along E. 6th St and found the residence to be secure.

* Police officers responded to Turnpike Ave for an altercation between a male and female. Police arrived and could hear the male inside the apartment yelling and screaming. Police made contact with the occupants and found the altercation was verbal. The male was cited for disorderly conduct.

* Officers arrested a male after he was found to be passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle parked along Park St. The male was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and possible Methamphetamine. Charges are pending.

* Police were called to Penn Highlands Clearfield for a mental health patient that was being disorderly.

* Clearfield Borough Police checked the area of McBride St after a homeowner found their vehicle alarm had been activated.

* Police responded to an alarm at a business along E. Market St and found the building to be secure.
