St. Marys, PA – A dog has been rescued in St. Marys after police learned that a man had been kicking and abusing the animal.

Last Sunday, Dec. 22, the St. Marys City Police began receiving information that 70-year-old Herbert Nussbaum Jr. was continuously kicking a dog in the ribcage.

An investigation was launched, and during the course of this investigation facts and circumstances were discovered which indicted that this abuse had been ongoing.

The St. Marys City Police Department was able to make arrangements with the Elk County Humane Society to shelter the abused dog.

Charges have been filed against Nussbaum for cruelty to animals.
