Clearfield County, PA – High winds took down trees and power lines on Wednesday night, causing damage that left some Clearfield County residents without power until Thanksgiving.

Although the sporadic power outages certainly made it more difficult for some families to pull together a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, at least some Clearfield County residents posted on Facebook that the temporary lack of electricity made them more grateful for the things we usually take for granted.

Thank you to the volunteer firefighters who helped clear the roadways and to the power company employees who worked to bring electricity back to the area.

We’d also like you to remember the people working places that cannot shut down for the holidays… not just our fire crews, but also police, EMTs, hospital workers, prison employees, employees at gas stations who remain open while we travel, and our brave military members.
