Every Thursday until Thanksgiving at 10 a.m., it’s fall storytime at the DuBois Public Library. Enjoy read-along stories, fingerpuppets, and songs for young kids with Miss Becky.

Watch as area Entrepreneurs pitch for up to $50,000 today (Thursday) from 2 until 6 p.m. at the North Central PA LaunchBox! Come out and support these innovators, but stay for the fun, catered networking reception that follows. The BIG IDEA pitch events are attended by not only the friends and family of the presenters, but also community partners, local dignitaries, economic development professionals, other startups, and even potential investors. Presentations start at 2 p.m. followed by networking at 5 p.m. The winners will be announced at 6.

Kids F.A.I.T.H. (Fantastic Adventures in Trusting Him) is an evening full of fun, learning, and excitement for children age 4 to 5th grade at the Treasure Lake Church. Kids F.A.I.T.H. is held the 4th Friday of every month at Treasure Lake Church from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. The kids will have dinner together Friday, Nov. 22. After dinner, the kids will be doing a variety of different activities such as skits, games, crafts, baking/cooking, and learning about God! This is a free program, and you do not have to be a part of the church.

Come to the DuBois City Park amphitheater on Friday, Nov. 22 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. for annual DuBois Brighten the Night community tree lighting, arrival of Santa Claus, kids craft and caroling! Free event with lots to do.

Join the DuBois Area Jaycees Saturday, Nov. 23 for their 35th annual Jaycees reverse lottery! Doors open at 6, and drawings begin at 8. Tickets are $20 per person. Every 50th ticket wins $100. Last 5 tickets wins $500, $500, $500, $1,000, $1,500. Must be 21 to attend. Includes dinner, beverages, entrance into lottery drawing! Bring extra cash for 50/50 and basket raffle. Beechtree Union Church in Brockway will hold a Christmas Cookie Sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the church. Baker’s dozen cookies will be available for $4. There will also be a craft table along with baked goods, candy and canned goods.

The Falls Creek Annual Bear Check is Saturday, Nov. 23 until Wednesday, Nov. 27! Of course you can check in your harvested bear at this station, but there’s a lot more going on than just that! Bring your whole family. Drive-through bear check station, huge Chinese auctions, live turkey displays, bear viewing area, bear harvest mapping, free daily door prizes drawing, gun/cash raffle, and a full kitchen of food and drinks for sale.

There will be a benefit spaghetti dinner for the family of Friendship Firefighter Chris Downer who recently passed away after a short battle with cancer. The dinner will be Sunday, Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Friendship Hose Company at 12 S. Main St., DuBois. $10 per dinner with spaghetti plus much more. Take-out only.
