Fox Township, PA – Two people from Kersey were injured in a crash in Elk County over the weekend.
85-year-old Edward Palmer from Kersey had been driving down the Million Dollar Highway in Fox Township around 1:30 Saturday afternoon. He was momentarily blinded by the sun and accidentally struck a parked truck that was parked partially in the roadway.
His vehicle spun out and was then struck by a car driven by 56-year-old Barbara Rettger from Kersey.
79-year-old James Ellis from Weedville swerved to avoid the accident by sideswiped Rettger’s car.
Ellis and his passenger, 76-year-old Diane Ellis from Weedville, were not injured. Palmer and Rettger, the drivers in the vehicle that hit the parked truck and the vehicle that subsequently hit the first one, were both taken by ambulance to Penn Highlands Elk with injuries of unknown severity.
