Punxsutawney, PA – Two local kids got a big surprise when a pink fire truck came to visit them from the other side of the state. 7-year-old Lyndsay Fox and 11-year-old Brayden Wyant are both battling cancer.

Matt Strouse from the Punxsutawney Fire Department asked the non-profit group Pink Heals to drive their brightly colored truck from Easton, PA to Punxsutawney on Saturday.

Eight of our local fire departments met the pink trunk in Big Run and escorted the truck to the Lindsey Fire Hall in Punxsutawney, where the kids were waiting.

Christine Fox, Lyndsay’s mom, said the kids loved it.

The event was for the entire community. Anyone who had cancer, is currently fighting cancer, or had lost a loved one because of it could sign the truck. Lyndsay and Brayden wrote their signatures on it too.

The Punxsutawney Fire Department has even started thinking about making this an annual event or even considering getting their own pink truck.
