Punxsutawney, PA – A Punxsutawney man was arrested for robbery for allegedly breaking into a home in Jefferson County.
34-year-old Joshua Agnello reportedly knocked on the windows and doors of a home along Route 36 in Bell Township on Aug. 23 and demanded to be let inside.
When he was refused entry by the occupants, Agnello allegedly cut the front door screen, broke a window in the front door and reached inside to unlock it.
Once inside, Agnello is alleged to have taken the victim’s purse from her bedroom before having a physical confrontation with the victim and her grandmother. The suspect then fled the scene.
The victims are listed as a 32-year-old woman, 68-year-old woman, 37-year-old man, 13-year-old girl, 10-year-old girl, and a 2-year-old girl.
An arrest warrant was issued with Agnello being taken into custody a few hours later by members of the PSP of Punxsutawney. He faces charges of robbery and snatching a purse by force.
He was arraigned in District Court and was released on $10,000 unsecured bail. This investigation remains open pending a preliminary hearing.
