Snyder Township, PA – A teenage driver is recovering from serious injuries after a crash with a truck on Route 219.

It happened on Aug. 19 where Route 219 intersects with Westville Road in Snyder Township.

The 16-year-old girl from Brockway had pulled out from the stop sign to turn onto Route 219.

She didn’t realize she was pulling out in front of a freightliner truck driven by a 33-year-old woman, Laumarie Rocafort Ojeda from Allentown.

The truck driver tried to avoid hitting her Chevy Impala, but she ended up striking the driver’s side.

The 16-year-old girl was flown by STAT Medevac to UPMC Altoona.

Her passengers, a 17-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl from Brockway, were taken to Penn Highlands DuBois for minor injuries.

The other driver, whose truck had rolled over when she attempted to not hit the car, also had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
