DuBois, PA – Dozens of kids celebrated the upcoming start of the new school year with a party and school supplies giveaway at the Salvation Army in DuBois over the weekend.

Captain Brianne Spooner from the Salvation Army says their school supplies program works a little differently than most… they set up a little “shop” where kids who need the donations can actually pick out what they want.

If your child needs a backpack or school supplies, there are other donations through other organizations.

For example, the churches in Sabula are doing a backpack giveaway today and again on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Hickory Grange. Click Here to learn more about the Sabula giveaway.

And if you’d like to donate to make a local kid’s school year better this year, you can still drop off school supplies to the H&R Block donation drive at either H&R Block in DuBois, Rep. Matt Gabler’s office, or our radio station studios. Click Here to learn more details about the H&R Block donation drive!
