Brockway, PA – This weekend, a 5K run and walk will honor the life of a young Brockway man and raise money for a scholarship in his name.

The Shane-O-Mak 5K run and 1.5-mile walk will be this Saturday, Aug. 10 in Brockway.

It’s held in memory of Shane Horner, who was killed in a car crash when he was 18 in 2009.

Runners and walkers will meet on Saturday in the Taylor Memorial Park, with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 8:30.

5k is $20, the 1.5-mile walk is $15.

All proceeds go to the Shane Horner Memorial Foundation, which gives one local student a year from DCC and Brockway a scholarship for higher education.
