Pine Creek Township, PA – A Jefferson County man fell asleep while driving and crashed into a tree and a utility pole on Friday.

22-year-old Ryan Lucas from Brookville had been driving on Route 1830 in Pine Creek Township around 12:30 Friday afternoon.

He fell asleep and drove his 2007 Jeep off the roadway and struck a tree. He then continued into a utility pole, which broke. The Jeep finally rolled onto its side and came to a final rest.

Lucas had been wearing his seat belt and fortunately only had minor injuries. He declined being transported to the hospital.
