Sandy Township, PA – Two people are left with possible injuries after a crash on Interstate 80 near a construction zone.
It happened July 7 around 1:30 p.m. when 68-year-old Rebecca Ruth from Franklin, PA was driving on Interstate 80 near mile marker 103 in Sandy Township.
Ruth was in her Ford Escape, following behind a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 31-year-old Jeffrey Carvalho from Clearfield.
They were both in the left lane when traffic slowed down for an upcoming construction zone. Ruth’s vehicle struck the rear end of the Carvalho’s truck.
Ruth and her passenger, 83-year-old Sherry Chappel of Frankfort, KY, were both uninjured.
However, Carvalho and his front-seat passenger, 30-year-old Brianna Aughenbaugh from Clearfield, both complained of possible injuries and were taken to Penn Highlands DuBois.
The children in the backseat of the truck – an infant girl, a 1-year-old boy, and a 3-year-old girl – were all uninjured.
