(NEW YORK) — NFL team owners on Tuesday approved a major change to the league’s replay review system for the 2019 season. When the season begins, offensive and defensive pass interference close calls or non-calls will get a look from the booth.“OPI and DPI are now reviewable. We’ve never done that before,” says Rich McKay of the NFL Competition Committee. The move to make the change stemmed from a single play in January’s NFC Championship Game between the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints. Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman’s hit on New Orleans receiver Tommy Lee Lewis potentially cost the Saints a trip to the Super Bowl.Copyright © 2019, ABC Radio. All rights reserved.
