Burnside Township, PA – A Clearfield County family of eight is homeless after a fire destroyed their house yesterday morning.
Fire crews were called out to a home on Wrights Lane in Burnside Township, near Glen Campbell, around 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Eight people were living in the single-family home: 31-year-old Christopher Hockenberry, 51-year-old Tammy Hockenberry, 30-year-old June Newsome, 26-year-old Kimberly Newsome, 21-year-old Brian Poller Jr., 28-year-old Gregory Harhart, an 11-year-old boy, and a 3-year-old boy.
Thankfully all of the people were able to escape safely, but one dog died in the fire.
Investigators have concluded that it was an accidental electrical fire, caused by an overloaded circuit.
Damage is estimated at $50,000. The homeowners did not have insurance.
