DuBois, PA – Hundreds of people will be spending this Saturday ringside! The WPAL Fitness Center once again is holding the Golden Gloves Championships boxing tournament at the DuBois Country Club.

All of the seated tickets, for both general admission and VIP, have sold out at this point, making it their most successful year yet!

However, they’ll still be offering $30 standing-room-only tickets at the door, starting at 6:30 this Saturday.

This is part of the nationwide Golden Gloves competition, but it’s also a way of raising money for the local WPAL gym.

It gives kids a free place to work out, stay out of trouble, and get connected with the good influence of local police officers, who can also work out for free there.

Some of the boxers trained at the WPAL Fitness Center in DuBois, and the proceeds will go to the gym.

The WPAL Fitness Center is free for kids under 18 and is one way of keeping the fights off the streets and into the ring.

They also offer free memberships for law enforcement, which helps the kids build some positive relationships with the police. You can check out the WPAL Boxing and Fitness Center at 37 East Long Avenue in DuBois.
