Pennsylvania – It may be a job-seeker’s market, but many baby boomers are still having a hard time getting hired.

Erica Baird Baird is the co-founder of the website Lustre.net, which focuses on retired professional women. She says those employers are missing out if they don’t hire from all skill sets… including older folks.

“To be a truly diverse workforce and take advantage of everybody’s skills, from the most experienced to the least experienced, you really need to include people over the age of 60 in the workforce.

Baird says experience is an asset, not a liability.

“We may not run as fast as millennials, but we certainly know the shortcuts.”

Of course, it’s important to have a balanced team, which includes members and skills from every generation.
