Sandy Township, PA – Months after the resignation of Dave Monella, Sandy Township finally has a new township manager… Shawn Arbaugh!

Shawn Arbaugh had been the manager of Bethel Park near Pittsburgh since 2017, but he grew up in Sandy Township and was a 1999 graduate of DuBois High School.

Before his work in Bethel Park, he had been deployed to Iraq in 2003 with the Army.

He went to Keystone College for his bachelor’s degree, then went back to Kutztown University for his master’s in public administration.

Arbaugh says he’s excited to get started, and Sandy Township offers some unique prospects for growth.

One of the strengths that he says in Sandy Township is being so close to Interstate 80 and other large highways. At the same time, there is space available for businesses to expand or for people to start a new company.

Arbaugh officially started as the Sandy Township Manager on Monday.
