Pennsylvania – The days are actually getting longer now, but these cold winter days might still leave you feeling down in the dumps. It has a name… Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD.

ABC Chief Health Editor Dr. Richard Besser says staying indoors so often in the winter can have a serious effect on your physical and mental health.

If you’re feeling depressed or more tired than usual, you should talk to your doctor and possibly a therapist. Some treatments include more time outside in the sunshine (just make sure you bundle up), a change in diet, or even putting a “light box” to make things brighter indoors.
