Brockway, PA – A fundraiser is putting some Brockway teachers in a hairy situation! Several teachers will find themselves without a beard at the end of the week.

Brockway ag teacher Kyle Norman started a donation drive for the school’s weekend backpack food program.  The program was in need of items to send home to students who live in places where they are not sure where the next meal will come from.

It started out small — a goal of 1000 donations to shave Norman’s head.  Soon, as donations poured in, the goals kept getting higher.

Listen to Kyle Norman talking about the donations.

In all, the school district and the community donated more 4,000 nonperishable items to the program.  Because of that number, the school will hold an assembly Friday to have students shave teachers Matt Holt, Tim Chelednik, Justin Parson, Shawn Smith, Zac Weaver, Kyle Norman, Don Allenbaugh, and John Hawkins.

Paul Olsakovsky, owner of Paul O’s Barber Shop in Brockway, will be there to help clean up any awkward trimmings.
