Philadelphia, PA – Although the government remains in a partial shutdown, a Philadelphia tourism group donated enough cash to keep the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall open this weekend.

City officials in Philly say the week between Christmas and New Year’s is one of the busiest times to visit the area.

The Visit Philadelphia tourism organization donated $32,000 to keep the doors open from this Friday until Sunday, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. No tickets are required to visit.
