North Mahoning Township, PA – A Punxsutawney man is in jail after he was caught robbing a home and then resisted arrest.

Just before 10 p.m. Monday night at a home in North Mahoning Township, the 80-year-old woman and 81-year-old man who lived there called police because they found a man was inside of their house.

He had already fled by the time police arrived, but troopers later found 37-year-old Timothy Butterworth.

Butterworth reportedly refused to follow commands by police and began aggressively approaching the troopers.

Police used a taser to subdue him and were able to take him into custody.

Butterworth faces several charges, including burglary, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, terroristic threats, and criminal mischief.

There is no word yet on when his preliminary hearing will be.
