Clearfield, PA – Roadwork along Bennetts Valley Highway in Clearfield County is now expected to take longer than originally anticipated.
The project over Mine Cave Lane near the village of Hollywood began in October and was supposed to be done within four weeks.
However, because of weather and other delays, the roadwork will continue until December.
The construction is renovating the roadway where it crosses over a mine site.
If you’re driving through Bennetts Valley Highway (also known as Route 255, Huston Township) close to Penfield, expect to still see temporary traffic signals for the next few weeks.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-42 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly while achieving significant savings and minimizing impacts on motorists.
