Brockway, PA – The Brockway Borough Council is advertising its 2019 budget, which includes a 1 mil increase for residents of the borough.

The council balanced the increase with cuts.  The budget originally had a $170,000 deficit, but the budget committee was able to decrease that amount so it could be covered by the millage.
Finance committee member Army Fortunato explained the millage increase and how it impacts the community.
“During our committee review process, we reviewed the budget, seeing which revenues were possible versus which expenses we were willing to cut and what made sense for the community.
We were able to plug that $130,000 hole with a 1 mill increase and cutting some respective expenses. That 1 mill increase came out to about $43,000 for the community as a whole. Individually, it’ll be about $52 on average per household.”
