Falls Creek, PA – The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau gathered at Cooper Farm Market in Falls Creek yesterday to honor Glenn GT Thompson with the “Friend of the Farm Bureau” award.

The award is presented to members of Congress every two years.

Although the bureau says it is not a political endorsement, it’s meant to recognize politicians for passing legislation and voting on agriculture issues.

The bureau gave the award to Congressman Glenn GT Thomspon this year for supporting agriculture-related policies, improving the regulatory system, reducing tax burdens, and maintaining the farm safety net.

Members of Congress must consistently vote in favor of Farm Bureau issues for them to be nominated by the Farm Bureau. The voting records are based on AFBF priority issues, as determined by its Board of Directors.

Listen to the interview with Dan Park, president of the Jefferson County Farm Bureau.
