DuBois, PA – The doors are opening today for the first medical cannabis dispensary in DuBois.
The Herbology Dispensary on South Brady Street will be open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. from Mondays through Saturdays.
The DuBois Chamber will be there for a ribbon cutting in the afternoon.
Herbology will have an educational booth with experts on hand to explain what medical cannabis is, how it differs from street varieties of marijuana, who can apply to use the product, and how the process of signing up works.

The products, although made from marijuana, are meant to provide medical relief to people suffering from one of about 20 specific conditions, including cancer, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Chron’s Disease, and glaucoma.
Earlier this year, the first dispensary in Pennsylvania opened in Butler. We heard from Diana Briggs, the first person to legally purchase medical marijuana in our state. Diana’s 17-year-old son, Ryan, has epilepsy and used to have up to 400 seizures each day.
With medical marijuana, that number has gone down to 100 per day. Diana says these products get a bad reputation and are usually misunderstood.
