Brookville, PA – Brookville Borough Council has agreed to hire another part-time police officer, following the recommendation of chief Vince Markle and mayor Dick Beck.

The hiring will not impact the budget as the police department is still within its budgeted complement of officers. The name of the new hire is pending their acceptance.

Council received two bids for the sale of old unused equipment being housed at the borough Maintenance building. The borough accepted both bids – one for $155 for the sale of a 1980 Siebring Pressure Washer and the other for $115 for the sale of an Army surplus gas power generator.

Brookville Council also passed a resolution approving an update to the Jefferson County Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan, previously approved by the county, must be approved by every municipality in the county.
