Brockway, PA – Teens are reaching out to support our vets! The American Legion Post 95 Auxiliary is teaming up with juniors at Brockway High School to gather materials for care packages to be sent to veterans.

The class of 2020 and members of the Auxiliary will hold the first Veterans Support Project, gathering non-perishable items like activity books, tooth brushes, and hot chocolate mixes to be sent to veterans in nearby VA hospitals, shelters, and nursing homes. This is part of the juniors’ service project, a requirement for graduation at Brockway.

Dee Dee Carlini, President of Post 95’s Auxiliary, explained why it is important for students to get involved with supporting veterans.

Juniors will team up with Auxiliary members at Martino’s Bilo and Brockway Dollar General Story on September 29 to collect items. They will also collect items at the school. Anyone wishing to donate can contact the school or Post 95, or shop at Dollar General or Bilo during the hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 29th.
